The main opposition BNP held a joint meeting Saturday with its front
organizations to brace themselves with preparations for making a success
their September 27 Paltan rally for the launch of their much-hyped
movement program.
Opposition leader and BNP chairperson Khaleda
Zia will announce the party`s next course of anti-government movement
from the rally at the historic Paltan grounds, meeting sources said.
With
party acting secretary-general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in the
chair, the meeting was held at the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters,
making a stocktaking of the ground situation of politics and the
preparations dimmed fit for the occasion.
Khaleda`s adviser A Z M
Jahid Hossain, party joint secretaries-general Aman Ullah Aman,
Salahuddin Ahmed, Mohammed Sahjahan and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi were among
many other senior leaders who attended the meeting.
Another
meeting was also held at the office with the leaders of the main
opposition`s units of Dhaka and adjacent districts in the afternoon as
part of a massive groundwork for the grand rally.
BNP has already
sought permission from the National Sports Council to use the ground
for the rally of the former Prime Minister, Khaleda Zia.
