পাঁচ হাজার কোটি টাকার বাংলাদেশ ফান্ডের রেজিস্ট্রেশন (ট্রাস্ট ডিড) সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে ইনভেস্টমেন্ট করপোরেশন অব বাংলাদেশের (আইসিবি) সম্মেলন কক্ষে ফান্ডটির স্পন্সর প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালকদের উপস্থিতিতে এই রেজিস্ট্রেশন সম্পন্ন হয়।
আইসিবির ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক (এমডি) ফায়েকুজ্জামান বলেন, সাব-রেজিস্ট্রার অফিস থেকে কর্মকর্তারা এসে কমিশন করে আজ রেজিস্ট্রেশন সম্পন্ন করেন। এর আগে আইসিবির বোর্ড মিটিংয়ের মাধ্যমে ফান্ডটির ট্রাস্টি ও কাস্টডিয়ান ফি কমানো এবং সিকিউরিটিজ অ্যান্ড এক্সচেঞ্জ কমিশনের (এসইসি) কয়েকটি সিদ্ধান্ত রিভিউ করার অনুরোধ জানানো হয়। তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘আইসিবির মিউচুয়াল ফান্ডের অতীত অভিজ্ঞতা অনেক ভালো। সুতরাং বাংলাদেশ ফান্ড বিনিয়োগকারীদের আশাব্যঞ্জক মুনাফা দিতে পারবে।’
এদিকে এসইসির বিধি অনুযায়ী মোট ফান্ডের ১০ শতাংশ জমা থাকতে হয়। এরই পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে ৫০০ কোটি টাকা আজই সংশ্লিষ্ট স্পন্সর কর্তৃক ফান্ডে জমা পড়ার ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়েছে। এ ছাড়া একটি রোড শো করারও সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। এই ফান্ডটির ইউনিট ওটিসিতে কেনাবেচা হবে। প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ও ব্যক্তি পর্যায়ে বিনিয়োগকারীরা এই ফান্ডে বিনিয়োগ করতে পারবেন।
প্রসঙ্গত, পুঁজিবাজারে সাম্প্রতিক বিপর্যয়ের পর বাজারে স্থিতিশীলতা আনতে পাঁচ হাজার কোটি টাকার বাংলাদেশ ফান্ড নামে ওপেন এন্ড মিউচুয়াল ফান্ড গঠনের সিদ্ধান্ত হয়। ফান্ডটির স্পন্সর হিসেবে কাজ করছেন রাষ্ট্রীয় বিনিয়োগ প্রতিষ্ঠান আইসিবি, চার রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত ব্যাংক সোনালী, অগ্রণী, রূপালী ও জনতা, জীবন বীমা করপোরেশন, সাধারণ বীমা করপোরেশন ও বাংলাদেশ ডেভেলপমেন্ট ব্যাংক লিমিটেড (বিডিবিএল)

The World Bank (WB) has confirmed funding of $1.2 billion for the construction of Padma bridge under a loan agreement signed with the government.
The long-awaited deal was struck on Thursday afternoon in language martyr 'Barkat' ferry at Mawa point in the river, the site for the proposed longest bridge in the country.
The WB loan amount is 41.38 percent of the total estimated cost of $2.9 billion for the Padma Bridge project.
WB country director Ellen Goldstein and Economic Relations Division secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
Finance minister A M A Muhith, planning minister A K Khandaker, communications minister Syed Abul Hossain, prime minister's economic affairs adviser Mashiur Rahman and WB managing director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweela were present at the signing ceremony.
The two sides also signed a project agreement (Padma Bridge Project). Goldstein signed the deal for the WB while Bridges Division secretary Mosharraf Hossain for the government.
Apart from the WB, the Asian Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank and Japan will finance $1.15 billion for the mega project while the remaining money will be spent by the Bangladesh government.
After construction, the 10-kilometre bridge will be the biggest bridge in the country as well as in Asia, project director of the proposed bridge Rafiqul Islam earlier said.
Six kilometres of the bridge will be built over the river while four kilometres on the earth in the both sides of the river to link the country's central part with the south.
The government is insisting that it will complete the mega project before the expiry of its tenure in January 2014.
