Sanjoy Lalbhai, Managing Director of Arabind Textile Mills of India, signed a deal with Abdul Musabbir Ahmed, Managing Director of Nitol Group of Bangladesh.
Another accord was signed by Shoulash Agarwal, Managing Director of Advent Enterprise of India, and Helal Uddin, Proprietor of Nilomoy Traders of Bangladesh.
Importing fabrics from Indian Arabinda Textile Mills, Nitol Group will supply the item to the garment factories of Bangladesh while Nilomoy Traders will market kitchen electronics in Bangladesh importing from Advent Enterprise of India.
Indian Commerce Minister Ananda Sharma and Bangladesh Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith were present at the agreement-signing ceremony.
Among others, Commerce Minister Faruk Khan, Food Minister Abdur Razzak, SAARC Chamber of Industry President Anisul Haq, Indian High Commissioner Rajeet Mitter and Indian apex trade-body FICCI president Horse Mariala were also present.
FBCCI President AK Azad greeted Indian Commerce Minister Ananda Sharma on his visit to Bangladesh.
Azad urged Sharma to take initiative for removing the existing “tariff and non-tariff barriers to exporting Bangladeshi products to India”.
He also requested the Indian business delegation to invest more in Bangladesh
