শেয়ারবাজার :::: সামাজিক যোগাযোগের ওয়েবসাইট ফেসবুকে দাঙ্গার স্বপক্ষে প্রচারণা চালানোর অভিযোগে ২ তরুণকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে ব্রিটিশ পুলিশ। সংক্ষিপ্ত বিচারের পর এ দুই তরুণের প্রত্যেককে চার বছর করে কারাদণ্ডেও দণ্ডিত করা হয়েছে। জর্ডান ব্ল্যাক’শ (২০) ও পেরি সুটক্লিফে কি’নান (২২) নামের এই তরুণ দাঙ্গার সময় ফেসবুকে ফ্যানপেইজ খুলে এর স্বপক্ষে জোর প্রচারণা চালিয়েছিলেন। জর্ডানকে চেশায়ার ও কি’নানকে ওয়ারিংটন থেকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়।
ব্রিটেনে সংঘটিত সাম্প্রতিক দাঙ্গায় দেশটির বিভিন্ন শহরে প্রচুর ভাঙচুর ও লুটপাট চালানো হয়। এই নজিরবিহীন দাঙ্গায় অংশগ্রহণকারী বেশির ভাগই ছিল কিশোর ও তরুণ বয়েসি।
জর্ডান ব্ল্যাক’শ ফেসবুকে ‘স্ম্যাশ ডাউন নরউইচ টাউন’ শিরোনামে একটি ফ্যান পেইজ খোলেন। কি’নানও ‘লেটস হ্যাভ রায়ট ইন লেচফোর্ড’ নামের একটি পেইজ খোলেন। উত্তর ইংল্যান্ডের বিভিন্ন শহরে বাড়িঘর, দোকানপাটে যে লুটতরাজ চালানো হয়, ফেসবুকে খোলা এ দুজনের ফ্যানপেইজ তাতে ভূমিকা রেখেছে বলে পুলিশের তরফ থেকে অভিযোগ করা হয়েছে।
এ ব্যাপারে পুলিশের একজন কর্মকর্তা বলেন, ‘এ কারাদণ্ড তরুণদের প্রতি এক ধরনের বার্তা।’ তিনি বলেন, ‘প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার ভালো। কিন্তু প্রযুক্তিকে কেউ যদি খারাপ উদ্দেশ্যে ব্যবহার করে, তাহলে তাঁকে শাস্তি পেতেই হবে।’ ওয়েবসাইট।

These new devices are seemingly taking the place of PCs.
We no longer need desktops to be connected, play games or other everyday reasons. And HP's shocking announcement, Apple CEO's statement and IBM engineer's recent blog post all indicate the end has come for the PCs.
Are we really seeing the end of PCs? Is it really happening?
Mark Dean, IBM's chief technology officer for Middle East and Africa, thinks so. And you just cannot reject his comment outright. He is one of the 12 engineers who designed first IBM PC 30 years ago.
In his recent blog post Dean said the PCs are going the way of the vacuum tube, typewriter, vinyl records, CRT (cathode ray tube) and incandescent light bulbs.
He further said progression and innovation was once centred on PCs and how powerful they could be developed to become, but now it is new tools and services that are creating the most innovation in IT.
Dean claimed that the IBM could anticipate it back in 2004 and sold IBM's PC business to Lenovo and shifted its focus on higher-margin server hardware, software and professional services.
Following IBM, HP (Hewlett-Packard), world's top computer maker, too has announced that the company is taking steps to exit the business.
“We tend to throw the 'post-PC era' term around a lot, but it's clear that in the wake of HP's announcement, we're closer than ever to that reality,” said London-based independent technology analyst Carmi Levy.
“When a stalwart of hardware's golden age essentially walks away from the business on which it was built it's easy to conclude that the point of no return has been officially passed,” said Levy.
In an announcement on August 18, HP said its board has authorised the evaluation of “strategic alternatives” for its unit that could sell or spin off its PC business into a separate company, reported AFP.
HP is implementing a plan to fundamentally transform the company. One component of the plan is focusing its investments, resources and management attention to drive higher value solutions to enterprise, small and midsize business and public sector customers.
Apple's just retired CEO Steve Jobs at the D8 Conference in June said we've reached the beginning of the post-PC era acknowledging that PCs have taken us long way.
The iconic Jobs believes people will be doing lot more work on tablets in the future, including heavy workloads typically associated with desktop PCs.
Forrester Research analyst Sarah Rotman Epps said what the post-PC era really means is not that PCs go away but that there's a shift away from computers to computing, adding, computing happens now on many different devices and it's a much diverse landscape than one type of computer.
Dean said he uses a tablet as his primary computer now. “When I helped design the PC, I didn't think I'd live long enough to witness its decline. But, while PCs will continue to be much-used devices, they're no longer at the leading edge of computing,” wrote Dean, CTO of IBM which invented PC, in his blog post.
