শেয়ারবাজার :::: পুঁজিবাজারের বর্তমান পরিস্থিতিতে করণীয় নির্ধারণের জন্য মার্চেন্ট ব্যাংকারদের সঙ্গে সোমবার বৈঠকে বসবে সিকিউরটিজি অ্যান্ড এক্সচেঞ্জ কমিশন (এসইসি)।
রোববার এসইসি সূত্রে এ তথ্য জানা গেছে।
সূত্র জানিয়েছে, সোমবার সকাল ১১টায় এসইসিতে এই বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। বৈঠকে বাংলাদেশ মার্চেন্ট ব্যাংকার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের (বিএমবিএ) নেতৃবৃন্দ ছাড়াও প্রতিটি মার্চেন্ট ব্যাংকের শীর্ষ নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তাগণ উপস্থিতি থাকবেন।
উল্লেখ্য, প্রায় সাড়ে ছয় মাস চরম মন্দা পরিস্থিরি পর জুলাইয়ের শুরু তেকে পুঁজিবাজারে স্থিতিশীলতার আভাস দেখা দিয়েছিল। সূচকের ঊর্ধ্বগতির পাশাপাশি আর্থিক লেনদেনের পরিমাণ বাড়তে থাকায় বাজার সংশ্লিষ্ট সকল মহলেই স্বস্তি দেখা দেয়। কিন্তু গত দুই সপ্তাহ ধরে আবারও পতনের ধারায় ফিরেছে পুঁজিবাজার।
একের পর এক বড় দরপতনের কারণে আতঙ্কিত বিনিয়োগকারীরা রাস্তায় নেমে বিক্ষোভ করছেন।
এ অবস্থায় বাজারে স্থিতিশীলতা ধরে রাখতে সচেষ্ট হচ্ছে নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা এসইসি।
এ বিষয়ে করণীয় নির্ধারণের জন্যই মার্চেন্ট ব্যাংকের শীর্ষ নির্বাহীদের বৈঠকে ডাকা হচ্ছে। বৈঠকে বাজার স্থিতিশীল রাখতে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক বিনিয়োগকারীদের সক্রিয় ভূমিকা পালনের বিষয়ে এসইসির পক্ষ থেকে কিছু দিক-নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হতে পারে।
এছাড়া মার্জিন ঋণের নীতিমালা, অমনিবাস বিও হিসাব এবং বিভিন্ন বিধিমালা সংশোধনের বিষয়েও আলোচনা হতে পারে বলে জানা গেছে।

After the opening at 10:30am, the DGEN had a freefall by nearly 100 points in the first five minutes of trading hours.
Angered by the slide, the investors, under the banner of Investors Oikya Parishad, first demonstrated in front of the DSE building. Later, they marched out in a procession, blocking the street of the bustling business district.
They also chanted slogan calling for resignation of the Finance Minister, the Bangladesh Bank Governor and the DSE president and the Securities and Exchange Commission chairman.
At the close of the first trading day of the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange General (DGEN) Index shed over 139 points or 2.23 percent to stand down at 6,120. The volume of transactions stood at Tk 560 crore against Thursday’s 618 crore.
Of the issues traded, 220 declined, 24 advanced and nine remained unchanged.
The trade deals also took a tumble to 127078 against the previous day’s 132,503.
Beximco topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 280 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were NBL, TITASGAS, MICEMENT, KEYACOSMET, UNITEDAIR, GP, RNSPIN, MALEKSPIN and SIBL.
Chittagong stocks also marked a sharp fall Sunday with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 11,172 by dropping 266 points. The volume of transactions stood at Tk 78 crore.
Out of the issues traded on the day, 164 declined, 19 gained and three remained unchanged.
According to stock analysts, the stock market should not be hindered again by using any anti-stock rules or regulations or comments.
Earlier on Saturday, Finance Minister AMA Muhith dropped another bombshell over the troubles on the bourses as he said those who are clamoring over the stock market are all “gamblers”, not real investors.
“There are no investors on the share market now. Those who are there are all but gamblers,” said the minister at a meeting.
Stock experts suggested that the government should rather monitor the market closely so that it might not face any further collapse.
