বুধবার দুপুরে রাজধানীতে সোনার গাঁও হোটেলে এক কর্মশালায় আজাদ বলেন, "টিআইবি এক প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশ করে বিপদে পড়েছে। এখন তাদের হাইকোর্টে দৌড়াদৌড়ি করতে হচ্ছে। দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলতে গিয়ে ইব্রাহিম খালেদও বিপদে আছেন। তাদের পরিণতি দেখে আর কোনো ভালো মানুষ দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলবে না।"
ইন্টারন্যাশনাল বিজনেস ফোরাম অব বাংলাদেশ (আইবিএফবি) আয়োজিত "পরিবেশ ছাড়পত্র পেতে জটিলতার অবসান ও দুর্নীতি দমন ও শিল্প বিকাশ" শিরোনামের এক কর্মশালায় বক্তব্য দিচ্ছিলেন দ্য ফেডারেশন অব বাংলাদেশ চেম্বার্স অব কর্মাস অ্যান্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি (এফবিসিসিআই) সভাপতি আজাদ।
গত ২৩ ডিসেম্বর ট্রান্সপারেন্সি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল বাংলাদেশ (টিআইবি) প্রকাশিত এক জরিপে সেবাখাতের মধ্যে বিচার বিভাগেই দুর্নীতি বেশি হয় বলে উল্লেখ করা হয়।
ওই প্রতিবেদনের তথ্য-উপাত্ত বিশ্লেষণ এবং টিআইবির নির্বাহী পরিচালক ও ট্রাস্টি বোর্ড চেয়ারম্যানের সঙ্গে কথা বলে সুপ্রিম কোর্ট গঠিত একটি কমিটি। পরে সুপ্রিম কোর্ট অভিমত দেয়, টিআইবির বিচার বিভাগে দুর্নীতি বিষয়ক প্রতিবেদন নির্ভরযোগ্য নয়।
অন্যদিকে গত ডিসেম্বর-জানুয়ারিতে পুঁজিবাজারে ধস তদন্তে গঠিত পাঁচ সদস্যের তদন্ত কমিটির প্রধান ছিলেন খোন্দকার ইব্রাহিম খালেদ। গত ৭ এপ্রিল সরকারকে কমিটির দেওয়া প্রতিবেদন ৩০ এপ্রিল হুবহু পকাশ করে সরকার।
তদন্ত প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশের পর ইব্রাহিম খালেদের বিরুদ্ধে নানা অভিযোগে কয়েকটি মামলা হয়েছে। গত ১৯ মে হাইকোর্টের এক আইনজীবীর করা রিটের প্রেক্ষিতে হাইকোর্ট ইব্রাহিম খালেদের 'দুর্নীতি' তদন্তের নির্দেশ কেন দেওয়া হবে না তা দুর্নীতি দমন কমিশনের কাছে জানতে চায়।

এখন আমাদের দেশে 'ভালো মানুষরাই' বেশি সমস্যাই পড়ছেন অভিযোগ এফবিসিসিআই সভাপতি বলেন, "মন্ত্রী সচিব পর্যায়ের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তারা চাইলে দেশকে দুর্নীতিমুক্ত করতে এক মাসই যথেষ্ঠ। কিন্তু এজন্য তাদের জবাবদিহিতার ব্যবস্থা থাকতে হবে।"
রাজনৈতিক দুর্নীতি দূর না হলে দেশ থেকে দুর্নীতি দূর করা সম্ভব নয়- এ মন্তব্য করে একে আজাদ বলেন, সরকার পরিবর্তন হলেই দেখা যায় রাজনীতিবিদরা দুর্নীতির মামলায় পরেন। এই রাজনৈতিক দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবসায়ী ও সুশীল সমাজকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হতে হবে।

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has urged the government through parliamentary standing committee to re-consider some of their proposals ahead of finalising the upcoming budget in an effort to restore stability in the stock market, officials said.
The leaders of DSE Tuesday made a number of proposals, including the opportunity of whitening 'undisclosed' money in the stock market, at a meeting held with the parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of finance at a hotel in city.
At the meeting, the chairman of parliamentary committee on the ministry of finance AHM Mostafa Kamal and the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on planning ministry Dr. Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir were present along with other members of their committees.
After the meeting, DSE senior vice-president Ahsanul Islam Titu said their proposal comes after the present situation of stock market, which needs some stimulus to overcome its crisis period.
"At the meeting we have reviewed the overall situation of the stock market," Mr. Titu told the FE.
Titu said in the budget proposal there was no specific instructions regarding the demand and supply of the capital market.
"The government has also said nothing as to how the liquidity of the market could be overcome," he said.
Titu said the DSE leaders stressed on restoration of capital market through some incentives.
"We have requested the parliamentary committee to place our proposals including tax incentives and deduction of corporate tax before the government so that the market can overcome its difficulties riding on these measures," he added.
DSE leaders also urged the government to give the opportunity of whitening 'undisclosed' money in the capital market.
"We have also made another request to the government to fulfill its deficit budget through the capital market," Titu said.
At the same time, the DSE leaders made another proposal to involve the country's stock market with public private partnership (PPP).
However, according to DSE leaders, Mr. Kamal said that he would talk to the government so that it finalises the proposals of DSE in the upcoming budget.
