United Airways (BD) Limited, a private carrier of the country, has introduced ATR-72, the 7th aircraft into its fleet to launch flight on Dhaka-Bangkok-Delhi-Kolkata route.

With this new addition United Airways will have one Airbus-310, two MD-83, two ATR-72 and two Dash-8-100. The new plane will have 64 seats.

Capt. Tasbirul Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman and Managing Director of United airways inaugurated the new aircraft by cutting ribbon at the Hazrat Shahjalal International domestic terminal.

High officials of the airways attended the programme.

United airways Chairman said ATR-72 is more easy and efficient in operation. The quickest and most cost-effective aircraft will be able to make a vital role for competitive fares to the passenger.

He also informed United Air is going to purchase another Airbus-300 which is expected to add in the fleet by July next in this year. 

United Airways started it’s journey on July 10, 2007 with it’s maiden flight from Dhaka to Sylhet and currently operates regular flights to all major domestic routes, which includes Chittagong, Cox’s bazaar, Sylhet and Jessore.

The international operation of the Airline began on September 24, 2008 with a flight to Kolkata subsequently it added international destinations like Dubai, London, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu, Chittagong-Dubai¬ and also Chittagong – Kolkata.
