SEC to sue stock manipulators

The Securities and Exchange Commission is set to file cases in the recent stockmarket scam in a week, an official said yesterday.
The cases will be filed against some individual investors who were primarily found by a government probe committee involved in share market manipulation, said Prof Helal Uddin Nizami, a member of the SEC.
“The commission has appointed a senior lawyer and sent him all necessary documents to file the cases,” he said.
After making the probe report public on April 30, Finance Minister AMA Muhith instructed the SEC to file cases against the investors who were alleged by the probe committee.
