A 20-member delegation led by Chinese ambassador Zhang Xianyi visited Beximco Industrial Park on Friday.

Chairman of Beximco Group A S F Rahman and group director and CEO of Bextex Syed Naved Husain received the delegation team at the industrial park, says a press release.

The ambassador and the delegation also met with Salman F. Rahman, deputy chairman of the Group, Bangladesh's biggest conglomerate.

After presentation and discussion, the delegation visited all the textile and apparel manufacturing facilities of Bextex and the Porcelain and Bone China plants of Shinepukur Ceramics.

They were impressed by the massive scale and state-of-the-art technology used at these facilities. They were also impressed to learn about extensive investment Beximco had made towards minimising the emissions of greenhouse gases, which included a high technology effluent treat plant, combined cycle heat recovery and recycling systems, plantation of 16,000 trees and expansion based on sub surface geothermal alternate energy systems.

Later the team visited the extensive design and product development facilities, as well as the Yellow and retail pilot shop.

They were briefed about the deep partnerships Beximco had established with world-class international institutions including FIT, Parsons and the London School of Fashion and the international talent Beximco was able to attract as a consequence of being branded as an international employer of choice.
